Summer rainfall now nearing its end with only light falls expected in the last week of March and first week of April 2019. Heavier falls are however still possible over the eastern Summer Rainfall Area. Very little or no rain for Western Cape for the short to medium term.

Many developing economies suffer from a lack of reliable rainfall measurements due to a lack of funds and a shortage of equipment – such as gauges and radars. Even if countries are equipped with these monitoring instruments, they all have limitations.

LA NINA- 

South Africa is among a handful of countries that experience winter rainfall in some areas and summer rainfall in others.

According to meteorology experts at South Africa’s University of Pretoria, rainfall extremes are becoming more probable in parts of the country.
