    Improving management practices in grasslands— large areas covered with grass, especially used for animal grazing— can boost the capacity of soils as carbon sinks, and help countries reach their climate goals, according to a new report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

    Agroforestry is increasingly recognized as an important mechanism for promoting sustainability in agricultural systems.

  • Savannas that were once green have turned to barren wasteland.

    By bringing cheetahs back to the degraded savannas of Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the North West province, South Africa halted desertification, increased vegetation cover, restored water and soil, and reduced overgrazing without artificial intervention.
