TLU SA is thankful for the splendid rains over a wide area of the country the past weeks. It brought great relief for many farmers in South Africa.

“We received messages from farmers from all over relaying how nature is intensively restoring after the rains,” says Mr Henry Geldenhuys, the president of TLU SA. “We are as thankful as they are about our answered prayers.”

However, amidst the gratitude, there are still areas left where farmers depend on feed from elsewhere to keep their animals alive. TLU SA is aware of farmers in specific regions, and farming with certain commodities who suffered damage because of the rain.

“It is true that the rivers overflowed their banks and caused damage,” Mr Geldenhuys continues. “But, the longterm value of stabilising water tables, cleansed river systems and the positive result of full dams are a blessing not only to farmers but to the whole of South Africa.

“In the time of drought, we humbled ourselves in front of our Creator and begged for rain. It is now important to also give thanks – in our families, organisations and churches.”

TLU SA wants to remind and encourage farmers to plan and make provision during times of abundance. The TLU SA Trauma Fund always needs contributions to support farmers in times of setbacks. More information about the Trauma Fund is available on the website at this link: https://www.tlu.co.za/en/resources/.

“We are thankful for every contribution to the Trauma Fund and would like to offer a special word of thanks to the anonymous contributors who we cannot always thank through the normal channels,” he concludes.

TLU SA dankbaar oor goeie reën in Suid-Afrika
