As an urban farmer I always have to come up with solutions to save my food corps from monkeys, birds and insects.  I thought other poor backyard growers will find it interesting enough to try it out too.

1)  Butternut and Pineapple savers gave me the last two months perfect 11 butternuts and 4 pineapples.  I've used two blue plastic baskets tied over with 40% shade-net placed in these baskets with cable ties tied to form one closed basked.  A tile was placed underneath the butternuts to keep it off the ground.

2)  Banana saver - Two old 40% shade-nets were 'stitched' together with cable ties and slip from underneath the bunch of bananas on the tree and tightened with a rope on top.

3)  Bananas were cut down after end of June and hung onto a swing in the sun to ripen

4)  40% shade-net was placed and tied with cable ties onto the huge paw-paws on the tree and the bottom of the net closed with a rope. Another stiff and hard 'net' was placed with wide spacing, over and around the paw-paw covered shade-net to prevent birds pecking at the ripening paw-paws.  This net was also 'stitched' together with cable ties, but easy to remove

Here are the photos which I took of my above experiments which worked 100% to my satisfaction and saving my crops from being destroyed
