Jacto recently presented its third generation of autonomous sprayers, the Arbus 4000 JAV. This sprayer was developed specifically for use in citrus crops and will initially be exclusively available in Brazil.

Jacto is producing a limited number of machines, which will be tested by selected customers in Brazil. The Arbus 4000 JAV is expected to be available in other countries the next year.

Laser-scanning
The sprayer is equipped with a rather unique spraying technology. It uses laser-scanning to measure the size and proportion of plants. This information is used to make an optimised analysis of the environment.

The application system, equipped with individual valves for multiple fans with independent electric motors, controls the air flow for each fan independently according to the size of the plant. This increases spraying efficiency, and reduces drift; the intelligent spaying system applies the right amount of chemicals to eacht part of the plant with optimised airflow. It’s spray tank can hold 4,000 liters.

The Arbus 4000 JAV sprayer can operate autonomously and is remotely monitored and controlled using a console. Several machines can be controlled and monitored simultaneously, which means Arbus 4000 JAV can operate in a fleet, using the so-called convoy function and virtual alignment of the machines. All machines can virtually connected using the ‘follow the leader’ function.

The sprayer is equipped with an intelligent obstacle control management system, which identifies obstacles and stops the machine when necessary. The sprayer is powered by a 132 hp diesel engine. Thanks to its independent suspension, the sprayer can operate at relatively high speeds. The steering system with Unitrack technology allows for a small turning radius.
