During a ground-breaking ceremony in Pomona, Argo Tractors announced the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Kempton Park, South Africa.

Argo Tractors plans to officially open the facility, which will also be the new headquarters of Argo Tractors South Africa, in April 2022.

Speaking about the new facility, Simeone Morra, director corporate business of Argo Tractors, stated: “The decision to invest in this endeavour stems from our global vision to provide excellent customer service in all our strategic markets, including South Africa.”

“The new site will be home to an advanced training centre that will ensure continued development of the necessary technical and application skills within the dealer network. The building is also designed to host our customers for special events, as well as introduction of new products, services and technology. This facility will be a cutting-edge operational site dedicated to high-performance products and parts designed for modern agriculture,” Godfried Heydenrych, managing director of Argo Tractors South Africa said.

The new building was specifically designed and built to meet the expanding needs of customers. Located in Pomona, Kempton Park, the 6 400m² facility will be pressurised to minimise dust and will utilise natural light, enabling the company to use less electricity. The assembly area will be equipped with nine assembly bays that will be utilised to locally assemble tractors and implements. This will reduce shipping costs and support localisation and job creation. In addition, the latest technology in agricultural tractors and equipment will be on display in the 700m² showroom.

The full operation of the company including the administrative, marketing, sales, technical support and parts and training will be relocated to this new facility. It will support the markets of Angola, Botswana, DRC, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe
