Die NWKV ondersteun volhoubare produksiestandaarde, soos onderskryf in die kodes van beste praktyke van toepassing op die Suid Afrikaanse Wolbedryf.
Die uitvoer van wol na gesofistikeerde buitelandse markte met verskeie verbruikersvoorkeure, vereis ‘n produk wat aan streng kwaliteits– en etiese standaarde moet voldoen. Meer as 90% van die SA skeersel word jaarliks uitgevoer.
Al die genoemde standaarde is geskoei op praktyke wat dierewelsyn, biosekuriteit en die omgewing as prioriteit ondersteun en die SA skeersel baie gesog maak.
Die NWKV distansieer hom dus van enige praktyke wat nie in lyn is met ons kodes nie en wat die uitvoermarkte van die SA skeersel bedreig.
Wool exports and animal welfare
The NWGA supports sustainable production standards as underwritten in the codes of best practice and applicable to the South African Wool Industry. The export of wool to sophisticated foreign markets with various consumer preferences, requires a product that adheres to strict quality- and ethnic standards. More than 90% of the SA clip are exported annually.
All the mentioned standards are based on practices that support animal welfare, biosecurity and the environment, thereby making the SA clip very sought after.
The NWGA therefore distances itself from any practice which is not in line with their codes, thereby endangering the export markets of the SA clip.
